OUR STORY
The Grainary at Lake Valley Farm
is an upcoming wedding venue that is tucked away near the south shore of Lake Superior in Poplar, Wisconsin. It is situated less than thirty minutes from Duluth/Superior. Venue owners Kraig and Anne Anderson and Greg and Sarah Nelson bring you private spacious surroundings and careful attention to detail. The Anderson family homesteaded Lake Valley Farm in the early 1920’s. The fourth generation is still operating the farm today.
It all began In 2003, when two friends Anne and Sarah opened Grainary Home and Garden, a well known seasonal shop housed in the grainary building they renovated on the farm. In 2016, with help of family and friends the hayloft of the barn was the site for Anne and Kraig’s son’s graduation party and later that fall, a wedding ceremony for Anne’s niece. These events were the stepping stones toward the new vision; the grainary building and barn were destined to be used for a new refined purpose ~ weddings.
Anne and Sarah, with their passion for interior design, put their energy into years of thoughtful planning; the result - simple yet elegant surroundings.
From the original restored grainary building which houses the bridal cottage, to the industrial urban flare of the grain bin grooms loft, the expansive reception pavilion, and the grain bin bar/patio, you are sure to love the exquisite grounds.
Each building of the property has been carefully repurposed, maintaining the original character. Rich colored exteriors, including natural cedar shakes, repurposed galvanized metal, Chicago bricks and reclaimed beams- creates the perfect mix of architecture. The historic barn’s ceremony hayloft with soaring ceiling, massive iron chandelier, and natural light will leave guests in awe of the craftsmanship and design.
The Grainary at Lake Valley Farm delivers a different wedding experience. It is an intimate venue for any size event, from small wedding gatherings to large-scale celebrations.
We invite you to celebrate your memorable day with us.
